The Need
River Valley Church is a multi-campus church based in Minneapolis with a strong digital presence and a large, engaged community. As the church's influence grew, its existing website and app no longer supported the scale of its ministries, events, content distribution, and campus structure.
The church needed:
A modern, mobile-first website experience
A centralized digital hub for sermons, events, giving, and campus information
A more intuitive app experience for weekly engagement
Clear communication across staff and leadership throughout the transition
A rollout strategy that would minimize confusion and maximize adoption

The Work
As Digital Communications Manager, I led the initiative from planning through launch.
I worked cross-functionally with executive leadership, campus pastors, communications staff, and ministry teams to gather requirements and align priorities. I translated ministry needs into digital requirements and managed the external agency responsible for design and development.
My responsibilities included:
Establishing scope, timeline, and milestones
Serving as the primary point of contact between River Valley and the agency
Coordinating feedback cycles and stakeholder approvals
Managing QA across website and app builds
Overseeing content updates and migration
Leading launch readiness planning
Developing a rollout and communication plan for staff and attendees
The Outcome
The launch strengthened River Valley’s digital presence and positioned the church for continued growth and engagement across its Minneapolis campuses and beyond.
